HTC Dream, the first Android phone in market. (Oct 2008)
This is the world first Android phone ever released in the market. Originally running Android 1.0, it was later updated to Android 1.6 Donut. The front facing buttons are all mechanical buttons, which includes a trackball in the middle.
Though the "L" or "J" shape design of this HTC phone would somewhat be the trademark of future HTC android phones.
HTC Magic, the second android phone in market (May 2009)
Being the successor to the HTC Dream, HTC Magic completely get rid of the physical keyboard, making it a lot thinner than its predecessor. Though you might already noticed, HTC has decided to add a dedicated search button, which would also somewhat be included in all of the future HTC android phones until recently.

This HTC phone is the first ever HTC to use a heavily HTC customized android UI, the Sense UI.
The variant of the phone is HTC Droid Eris, a Verizon carrier redesigned version of HTC Hero.

One thing that is quite obvious about this phone is that HTC has decided to redesign the mechanical buttons to a sleeker look.
HTC Droid Incredible
The reason I didn't make the title text as big and as red as others is because this HTC was ever officially released outside USA. Though we will later see the so-called "international version" of this phone, the bigger version in June 2010.
HTC Wildfire (May 2010)
HTC Aria (June 2010) / HTC Gratia (Nov 2010)
A 3.2" phone, both Aria and Gratia are exactly the same till. I really don't differences, except Gratia was announced 4 months later (October 2010), and has a longer talk time on official specs (although both has same battery capacity, 1200 mAh.
HTC EVO 4G (June 2010)
This HTC is somewhat very different from the usual HTC design.
